Brazilian energy giant Petroleo Brasileiro SA , or Petrobras, is in talks with Indian company Reliance Industries Ltd. on possible petrochemicals joint ventures in Brazil, a top Petrobras executive said Tuesday.Petrobras and Reliance have discussed possible petrochemicals ventures in the northeastern Brazilian state of Pernambuco and in the southeastern state of Rio de Janeiro, said Petrobras Refining and Supply Director Paulo Roberto Costa in a company WebCast. “Talks regarding the Rio de Janeiro Petrochemicals Complex are preliminary,” he said. “Talks involving Pernambuco are more advanced.”
Costa said Petrobras was interested in what he called Reliance’s “great experience in the petrochemicals segment” in India.
